NCAAB Plays for Saturday

1/30/2010 4:35:02 AM by TPowell
Marquette (+5.5) at UConn

Marquette has 7 losses on the year that combine to 25 POINTS! They have kept the game within 5 points in EVERY game this year outside of one (a 9 point loss at Wisky in December that was actually a close game). They played Syracuse to a 5 point game AT SYRACUSE and West Virginia to a 1 point game AT WEST VIRGINIA. Not to mention only losing AT VILLANOVA by 2 points. They are 3-5 in the Big East because they've played a BRUTAL schedule so far that includes the following:

@ Syracuse, Villanova, West Virginia, DePaul

1. Kansas

Last year, many people expected Kansas to be a borderline top 25 team. It was a logical assumption after losing the corps of a National Championship team. Many people forget that Kansas earned a #3 seed last year in a rebuilding year (for Kansas). This team played Michigan State MUCH better than Louisville and UConn did. Kansas returns two Naismith Award caliber players in point...

TPowell's Season Long NFL/NCAAF Thread

Early Leans for NFL include the following: (They are in order from my faves down)

Indy -3.5
Jacksonville -3
New England -3 (buy it)
Carolina -3.5 (maybe a stretch)
Houston +6 (same as Carolina)

Early Leans for NCAAF include the following: (In random order)

Georgia PK (worried that Georgia's shitty D could let Tenn. score though)
Washington +2.5 (can't believe this line!)
Michigan +7.5 (Michigan isn't that far behind the best of the conf. IMO)
Arkansas +3 (Let down game for Auburn and Arky is ready to pounce IMO)
Kentucky +12.5 (USC isn't an offensive powerhouse, UK gives it away late)
Houston -3 (More of a hunch, but MSU's a good fade either way)
Utah -6 (Seems like a trap, will have to do much more digging on this one)
Marshall -3 (Isn't Tulane a perrenial doormat?)

Why TPowell is the OFFICIAL SBR Points Leader

9/4/2009 5:20:06 PM by TPowell

Before SBR put in a communist like point cap on, TPowell was far and away the leader in points. As of now, points are being given away for idiotic things, such as winning contests that involve ONLY luck and showing up to party with old men in Vegas. I hate to be the one to bring the bad news, but most sharps like myself dont have the time to deal with stuff like SBR Bashes and handicapping contests for points. Points are officially dead now. SBR realized what I become when my power posting potential comes out and they just couldnt afford it. I dont blame SBR because I could have took them for a plasma tv every month. I just hoped that they would set a reasonable cap like maybe 150 points per day. Just thought I would explain why I'm the official SBR points leader.

First Blog Entry

9/3/2009 11:48:40 PM by TPowell

Just finished some homework so I'm ready to watch some football. I have NC State ML in the first game and will more than likely be on the Boise State ML later tonight. Havent decided yet. I dont like backing Boise's relatively new defensive line against a team like Oregon who can really run the football. Boise should still be strong on offense though. Losing Ian Johnson was big, but his backup is just as good and probably better this year. The only worry is the couple WR's that did a lot last year that are gone now. I just don't think Oregon has the toughness to come into the Smurf Turf and beat the Broncos. I've heard all week how pumped up Oregon will be for revenge, but don't you think Boise is pumped for this big game at home on ESPN? As I type this, South Carolina is up 7-0 but for some reason I still think NC State can win and even cover easily. Will make a big blog tommorow will all my plays and everything. Best of luck to everyone on tonight's games!

Yours Truly,

The SBR Point Leader (TPowell)
